Good ol' PB&J

Into each life a little peanut butter and jelly must fall. Skippy creamy PB and some of the blackberry jam I bought the other day.

Bagels for Breakfast

Because of a dental appointment and having to do a fasting blood test at Kaiser, it was 10 am. before I had breakfast--and the bagels really tasted good!

Walt missed out on the first two Chinese Chicken salads, so we finished the fixings for dinner, along with some of those Hawaiian rolls we like so much

The Chinese Buffet

Well, I was halfway through my lunch at the Chinese buffet before I remembered the camera. but I had broccoli beef, General chicken, some sort of pork thing, and pork fried rice, plus a couple of won ton, and then sliced fresh strawberries for dessert.

Waffle Wednesday

Continuing the Waffle Wednesday tradition, we had pecan waffles this morning.

Thanks, Julia!

I watched Julia Child this afternoon, which gave me the idea for these pork chops rubbed with herb de Province and then pan fried, with a vermouth reduction for a sauce. Along with that were mashed potatoes and avocado, though I was too full to eat the avocado, so gave it to Walt.

Lunch

Bad me. I just snacked all afternoon and never really had a lunch.

Breakfast

English muffins and strawberries this morning.

Still a bit full

I was still a bit full from the big lunch, so found a leftover enchilada in the fridge and had that for dinner.

Not ALL my lunch

Well, this wasn't my whole lunch. My friend Alison and I got taken out to lunch at a little cafe in Kensington (near Berkeley). I had a fabulous corned beef sandwich with carmelized onions, which I forgot to take a picture of. But I did remember to take a picture of this incredible apple pie I had for dessert. Best restaurant pie crust ever.

Hey...it was on SALE

Our local SaveMart is phasing out Smuckers Blackberry Jam, one of my favorites. Naturally, I had to buy some while I had the chance.

Dinner

Finished up the package of stuff in the Chinese Chicken Salad kit I bought at Costco earlier. Note that the kit is heavy on the toppings!

Mothers Day Brunch

We took my mother to brunch for Mother's Day. We started with Mimosas.

I had already eaten some of my food before I remembered to take a picture. I had a pastry, Eggs Benedict, a salad, bacon, sausage and potatoes...

and later some huge strawberries.

Lamb dinner

Went to Costco this week, which means there are more of those little French lamb chops, along with a little potato and some creamed spinach.
