I also bought a piece of quiche for lunch while I was at the supermarket.
It seems that everybody is doing it. I enjoy trying to make artful looking pictures of the things I eat, and I need to start eating better, so I'm going to try to photograph EVERYTHING I eat, from a handful of peanuts to a full meal, in the hope that it will help me control my eating. I'm hoping that the commitment to photograph everything will give me the desire for greater variety in my foods...and to cut back on the snacks.

Namaste Nepal
A new Indian/Nepalese restaurant opened this week, in the location where a Mexican restaurant closed recently. They sent out discount coupons and we decided to check it out.

Since it's a brand new restaurant which hasn't established a clientele yet, they cook everything to order and told us it would be 15 minutes before our order was up. But they gave us this "Vegetable Mo-Mo" for an appetizer. They were steamed vegetable dumplings that tasted like they had some pickling spices in them. They were served with two different chutneys.

I ordered Lamb Coconut Tarkari, which is a coconut based lamb curry and is the lighter colored of the two dishes over the rice. Walt ordered Lamb Mushroom Tarkari, which is boneless lamb and mushrooms cooked with herbs and spices, according to the menu. Both were delicious.

And, of course, on the left of the plate is a garlic-basil naan bread, my favorite!

Good scones!
I don't usually order scones in the US because they are usually very dry, but this one, from Ciocolat in Davis, was extraordinary. It was only lacking clotted cream and jam to make it a real British experience! I had this at a late morning meeting and, since I knew we were going out to dinner, made it my lunch.

Celebrate Davis
This isn't exactly a dinner shot, but it sorta is. We went to the "Celebrate Davis" event tonight and I had a beef and cheese pirogi for dinner...you can see them on the middle shelf of that case on the right side of the table. (Naturally even with two cameras in my hand and a cell phone at my waist, I forgot to take a photo of MY pirogi!)
